Common Sense

CommonSense (https://www.commonsense.org/education) is the third effective literacy development website I choose to explore.

CommonSense(
https://www.commonsense.org/education/lists/best-websites-for-independent-reading) is another website I found useful and helpful in building children to become independent readers. One separate tab is for parents. In this section, when parents search, they can find books appropriate for their child’s age. This is not it, there are many more to search for on this platform including movies, TV shows, books, games, podcasts, apps, and parent tips. This is a good start for parents who are concerned about their children’s education especially in reading and are wanting to build them up. They can find everything that they are looking for on this platform.

Yet another tab is for educators. I like the statement on the front page. It motivates and encourages children to be connected to the rest of the world. Everything included on this page is meant for educators to become equipped in shaping independent readers. At the end of the road, the conclusion is always professional development. This says that everything is concerned with the growth and development of a child into becoming independent in reading. To be able to stand on their own and to another point lead somebody else.

The third tab on this platform showcases the work and impact of this useful website. When putting together to make this page, they made sure to share what their mission is. The main goal is to make the digital world better for children, teachers, and parents. As they believe that media is entertaining to all families, they are targeting to encourage the use of technology that is both supported and protected.
